The short answer
Pit Stop Roadside Services provides fleet roadside assistance across Dallas for light-duty work trucks, vans, pickups and company cars, 24 hours a day. Any driver can call (214) 367-5302, give the vehicle's location and the problem, and hear the price before a technician drives out. Jump starts, batteries, tire work, lockouts, fuel and stuck lug nuts are handled where the vehicle stopped.
Updated
What's included in fleet roadside assistance
Fleet roadside assistance covers light-duty vehicles: company cars, SUVs, pickups, vans and work trucks, but not semi-trucks or heavy-duty trucks.
- Jump starts, where the technician can check the battery and charging system, and new batteries installed where the vehicle is parked
- Flat tire changes with the vehicle's spare, temporary roadside plugs for small tread punctures (a tire shop should then repair the tire from the inside), and tires brought out and installed when there's no usable spare
- Lockouts opened with proper lockout tools made to avoid damage
- Fuel brought out to a vehicle that ran dry, enough to reach the nearest station
- Locking and stripped lug nut removal, plus air for low tires
- An itemized receipt for every call, so each vehicle's roadside costs are on record
When fleets call Pit Stop
- A work van won't start at the first stop of the day
- A driver locked the keys in a service truck at a customer's site
- A company pickup has a flat and the crew can't change it safely
- A vehicle ran out of fuel between jobs
- A shared vehicle has a wheel lock and nobody can find the key
- A low tire needs air before the vehicle heads back out
When it's not a roadside fix
Pit Stop serves light-duty fleet vehicles only, not semi-trucks or heavy-duty trucks, and doesn't do mechanical repair. If what you describe sounds like an engine, transmission, brake or wiring fault, the dispatcher tells you before anyone drives out that it isn't a roadside fix.
Brief your drivers before they need us
Drivers who are hurt, in a crash or stopped in a live lane should call 911 first. Otherwise AAA advises pulling as far right as possible with hazard lights on and staying buckled in, or getting out on the passenger side and waiting beyond the guardrail if there is one, at least 40 feet from the vehicle.
How fleet roadside assistance works
-
Talk to dispatch first
Call dispatch at (214) 367-5302 to talk through service for your fleet: the vehicles you run and where they usually work. There's no membership or yearly dues.
-
A driver calls from the vehicle
When a vehicle stops, the driver or a fleet manager calls dispatch with the location, the vehicle and the problem. Day or night, the dispatcher gives the price and an ETA for that exact spot before a technician is sent.
-
The fix happens where it stopped
A trained, insured technician comes to the vehicle, whether it's at a job site in Garland, a lot off Stemmons Freeway (I-35E) or the roadside, and handles the job on the spot so the driver can get back on the route.
-
A receipt for the office
The driver, or the fleet manager as the cardholder, pays on the call, by card or app, once the price is accepted. Every call ends with an itemized receipt naming the service, so the office can match the cost to that vehicle.
How much does fleet roadside assistance cost in Dallas?
The dispatcher gives you one total on the phone, and that's what you pay for the job you described. You pay Pit Stop Roadside Services LLC on the call once you've heard the price and the arrival time and said yes, before a technician is sent.
If plans change: refunds and fees
- Before you payYou hear one total and the arrival time. Say no and it costs nothing.
- Within 5 minutes of payingCancel for a full refund.
- Until the technician arrivesAfter that, you can still cancel and pay only the $35 to $75 service fee. The rest is refunded.
- At the carDone as described, the quote is all you pay. Can't be finished for a reason outside our control? The service fee replaces the price and the rest is refunded.
If we can't get a technician to you, or can't finish because of something on our side, you get a full refund. The dispatcher tells you the exact fee for your job before you pay.
If the job changes, can't be finished or isn't safe
- If the job changes
- If the job is different from what you described, you hear the new price before any extra work. Say no, and we finish what was quoted if we can; if we can't, the service fee applies and the rest is refunded.
- If it can't be finished
- If the reason is outside our control (the car needs a mechanic, the details given weren't right, or nobody is at the vehicle), a $35 to $75 service fee replaces the price and the rest is refunded. The dispatcher tells you the exact fee for your job before you pay.
- If the spot isn't safe
- If the spot you describe isn't one we can work in safely, the dispatcher tells you before you pay. If the technician finds at the car that it can't be done safely, for example in a live traffic lane, and the car can't be moved somewhere safer, the job can't be finished for a reason outside our control: the $35 to $75 service fee applies and the rest is refunded.
We match written quotes
Have a lower written quote for the same service and vehicle from another roadside company serving your location? Tell the dispatcher before a technician is sent, send a copy the way the dispatcher asks, and we match it. Memberships, insurance benefits and free public programs don't count.
No membership
Pay per call. No yearly dues and no sign-up.
An itemized receipt
If your auto policy includes roadside coverage, you can send the itemized receipt to your insurer; whether it pays is up to your policy.
Pay your way
Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, Venmo and PayPal.
What the price depends on
- The service each vehicle needs, from a jump start to a tire brought out and installed
- The vehicle, from a company sedan to a loaded light-duty work truck or cargo van
- Where the vehicle is and the drive time to reach it
- How many vehicles at the same stop need service
- A late-night call far from our Dallas base, which can cost more
Fleet roadside assistance: questions people ask
What does Pit Stop's fleet roadside assistance cover?
Pit Stop's fleet roadside assistance covers jump starts, battery replacement and installation, lockouts, flat tire changes with the vehicle's spare, temporary roadside plugs for small tread punctures, used and new tire replacement, tire delivery, air, fuel delivery and locking or stripped lug nut removal. It covers light-duty work trucks, vans, pickups, SUVs and company cars, 24 hours a day. A plugged tire still needs a tire shop repair from the inside.
How does a business start using Pit Stop for its fleet?
By phone. Call dispatch at (214) 367-5302, day or night, to talk through service for your fleet: the vehicles you run and where they usually work. There's no membership and no yearly dues: each call is priced over the phone first, and the price on the call is what you pay for the job you described.
Can my drivers call Pit Stop directly?
Yes. Pit Stop is open 24/7, and any driver can call (214) 367-5302 from the vehicle. The driver gives the location, the vehicle and the problem, and hears the price before anyone heads out. Every call ends with an itemized receipt for your records.
Do you help semi-trucks or heavy-duty trucks?
No. Pit Stop's fleet roadside assistance is for light-duty vehicles: company cars, SUVs, pickups, vans and work trucks. Semi-trucks and heavy-duty trucks aren't served, and mechanical repair isn't offered. If you're not sure where a vehicle falls, describe it to the dispatcher at (214) 367-5302 and you get a straight answer on the call.
Which areas does Pit Stop cover for fleet calls?
Pit Stop covers Dallas, Plano, Richardson, Garland, Mesquite, Irving, Grand Prairie and Carrollton, where arrival is typically 30–45 minutes, and also serves Farmers Branch, Addison, Arlington, Fort Worth, Frisco and McKinney, where the dispatcher confirms on the call whether a technician can reach each vehicle's spot and when.
How do fleet calls get paid and documented?
Each call is paid on the call, by credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, Venmo or PayPal, once the price is accepted and before a technician is sent. Card payment over the phone must be made by the cardholder. Every call comes with an itemized receipt, so your office has a record for each vehicle and each roadside visit.
While you wait
- Get out of traffic. If the car still rolls, ease onto the shoulder, the next exit ramp or a parking lot.
- Hazards on. Turn on your flashers. At night, keep your parking lights on too.
- Stay clear of the lanes. On a highway, stay buckled in the car or stand well behind the guardrail. Never between the car and traffic.
- Keep your phone free. The dispatcher may call back to confirm the spot. Keep the line open and the phone charged.
Hurt, in a crash or stopped in a live lane? Call 911 first.
